Job purpose




As part of our busy communications team with a key focus on campaigns, you will support the Marketing Campaign Manager in implementing our marcomms strategies, producing creative content primarily for digital channels, and engaging our target audiences of veterinary professionals and animal owners in our key activities.

Key responsibilities




We will need you to...

Contribute to the development and implementation of multi-channel marketing campaigns and, with colleagues in the communications team, implement these plans in an organised and creative way. Actively test different approaches to learn the most effective ways to achieve objectives.


Co-ordinate social media communications, ensuring the social media and communications planner and calendar are kept up to date with planned activities and results.


Take responsibility for the production of social media graphics, working within the creative and brand guidelines set by the Creative Manager.


Produce and edit short-form videos, animations, and case study content for social and web channels, liaising with the Media team and Creative Manager for filming, interviews, and editing as required.


Collaborate closely with the Web & Digital team to ensure online content and campaigns align with web and email strategy.


Work with the Marketing Campaign Manager and collaborate closely with teams across the organisation to plan marketing communications activity and ensure it meets our stakeholders' requirements.


Draft and edit high-quality and engaging copy for our communications activities, ensuring it is produced to deadline and approved before use. This may be for a variety of communications channels.


Continuously review social content and provide creative recommendations to ensure good engagement.


Monitor our social media channels for reactions to our marcoms activities, identify opportunities to engage with stakeholders and coordinate responses where appropriate.


Work with the Marketing Campaign Manager and other communications colleagues to identify, investigate and, where appropriate, pursue new ways of engaging with target audiences on social media.


Work within established brand guidelines and house style to ensure strong communications and help colleagues across the organisation to understand the importance of doing the same.

Assist the wider team in producing, editing and proof-reading content as required.


Maintain organised and accessible campaign analytics, reporting these to the Head of Marketing on a quarterly basis.


Bring new ideas and creative ways of working to the team, to contribute to our evolving communications strategy.


Stay abreast of social media best practice, accessibility requirements and campaign evaluation methods.


Contribute to a positive team culture by promoting collaboration and supporting improvement in ways of working.


Carry out any other relevant tasks that may be reasonably requested within the team. Participate in cross-team meetings and working groups as required.

Essential Criteria



Qualifications



Educated to degree level, or with a Certificate/ Diploma in a relevant subject eg communications, marketing, digital media etc.

Required skills, knowledge and experience




We need you to have...

Demonstrable experience in a similar or related field with a similar focus on the importance of engagement across all media platforms, eg marketing, PR, science communications. This can be in-house or agency (please be prepared to show examples of coverage, copy and other successful activities).


Excellent ability to write accurate and engaging copy that is suitable for either technical or non-technical audiences, and appropriate to all media types, ie print, online, social etc


Excellent attention to detail, with experience of editing and proof-reading other people's copy.


The ability to distill technical or complex information into customer-focused, digestible content.


Considerable experience of using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Photoshop to edit images and create simple graphics to support social media and web activities.


Experience managing and scheduling posts, including reporting and interpreting analytics data to inform recommendations.


Experience of video editing and ability to create simple animations.


Excellent organisational skills, with ability to manage projects from beginning to end and to agreed deadlines, often with competing priorities.


Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.


Ability to work proactively, along with the enthusiasm and willingness to learn, to work as part of a team, to network and to develop contacts.


A strong understanding of our culture and values.

We would like you to have...

A creative and imaginative approach, and a willingness to question the way we do things, with a view to improving them.


Excellent working knowledge of key social media channels and management platforms


Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, PowerPoint and Teams), content management systems and social media scheduling tools.


Experience managing or assisting with paid social media campaigns.


Experience in developing and managing influencer and ambassador partnerships to promote brand visibility and engagement.


Experience of working in a not-for-profit, membership or regulatory organisation.
