We're seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Motor Engineer to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading a high performing team that contributes effectively to business performance, strategy and creates positive customer outcomes.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:



You'll be responsible for managing a team of 12 and you'll act as a senior technical referral point. Supporting development through coaching and feedback ensuring individual, team and unit KPI's are met. Monitoring team performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Appropriately implement conduct and performance policies to manage absence and performance. Identify potential risks or challenges early and work with the Unit Manager to prevent issues before they arise. Dealing with complaints from external customers. Representing engineering at internal meetings and external supplier meetings. You'll be responsible for high value authority approvals.

What you'll bring:



Significant motor vehicle claims assessment experience, preferably gained in a vehicle service or repair workshop environment is essential. Proven experience in leading and managing a team of at least 12 is essential. Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) for Vehicle Damage Assessment is essential. ONC/HNC/NVQ or City and Guilds Full Technical Certificate gained in an association with a recognised motor industry training or apprenticeship programme is essential. Expert user of Audatex computerised vehicle damage assessment system and CAP valuation software would be highly beneficial. Knowledge and understanding of motor vehicle construction, repair techniques and repair cost calculations. Proven ability to coach and demonstrate a genuine interest in developing and supporting people. Highly organised, detail oriented and creative approach to problem solving.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
