medically trained members of night staff
to join our dedicated care team. This vital role combines professional clinical knowledge with a kind, person-centred approach to ensure our residents receive the highest standard of overnight care. Senior roles and weekend night staff required also.
Role Purpose
As a medically trained night carer, you will be responsible for overseeing residents' health and wellbeing during the night. You will respond to medical or care-related needs, provide routine health monitoring, administer medication safely, and ensure clear communication between the night and day teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal and clinical care to residents in line with individual care plans and medical requirements.
Administer prescribed medication safely and accurately, recording all details in accordance with policy.
Carry out regular wellbeing, comfort, and safety checks throughout the night.
Monitor residents for any changes in physical or mental health and respond swiftly to any medical concerns.
Record all observations, incidents, and interventions accurately and communicate handovers effectively to day staff and management.
Maintain a calm, professional presence during emergencies, following all clinical and safeguarding protocols.
Support residents with mobility, comfort, and emotional reassurance, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
Help keep the environment clean, safe, and prepared for the morning team.
Experience and Skills
Medically trained background - such as a
Health Care Assistant with clinical experience, Senior Carer with medication training, or Nurse Associate
.
Proven experience working in a care home, hospital, or other clinical setting, particularly in night care.
Confidence in monitoring vital signs, recording clinical data, and recognising changes in residents' conditions.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
A compassionate and attentive approach, ensuring both medical safety and emotional comfort for residents.
Basic IT and documentation skills for accurate record keeping and reporting.
