We encourage applications from experienced band 5 Occupational Therapists with relevant experience to this setting who wish to develop into a band 6 role. In this circumstance, the position would be paid initially at band 5 level (dependent on experience) until B6 competencies have been achieved. To practice as an occupational therapist managing the occupational therapy case load in the inpatient setting and delegating work to other team members as appropriate.
To develop and maintain a high standard of clinical practice as a member of the multidisciplinary team, in line with the code of professional conduct of the College of Occupational Therapists.
To assist the multi-disciplinary team in preparing intervention plans, implementing rehabilitation and planning complex discharges.
To be able to carry out access visits, travelling there in a timely manner, where it is clinically reasoned as essential.
To work jointly with other professionals to ensure a patient-centred approach.
To review and reflect on your practice through regular participation in professional supervision with your nominated occupational therapy supervisor.
To provide clinical supervision to other members of the team, as agreed with the Therapy Lead.
