This position involves leading and investigating a range of major, complex, and high-profile enforcement issues within the Development Management section of the Planning and Development service. A particular focus will be on Gypsy and Traveller cases, including formal enforcement and court action.
Responsibilities
Lead investigations on major and complex enforcement issues.
Focus on cases involving Gypsy and Traveller communities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Draft and serve various enforcement notices and injunctions.
Seek to obtain successful prosecutions where relevant.
Collaborate closely with a multi-agency group set up by the Police and Crime Commissioner.
Address issues of criminality and breaches of regulatory control in the area.
Person Specification
Proven experience in planning enforcement, particularly with complex and high-profile cases.
Strong understanding of legal processes related to enforcement actions.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work effectively with multi-agency groups and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage investigations independently.
Knowledge of issues related to Gypsy and Traveller communities is desirable.
