Scope of Role



Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses.

The purpose of this role is to assist the Production Manager in ensuring that maximum production efficiency and product quality are met whilst adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene procedures. To lead by example and ensure that you and your team are adhering to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.

Key Responsibilities



Review and implement production schedules daily and plan production processes by looking at staffing levels, materials required and machinery in order to meet customers' orders

Organise and implement staffing plans for the department, which enable the department to achieve production efficiencies and to ensure that production targets are met.

Control labour cost with the Production Manager by effectively planning holidays, staff rota's and skilled staff.

Control and manage components and packaging materials for daily production.

Address any department related issues relating to process and quality arising from internal and external customer complaints and audits.

Ensure the correct utilisation of the company's operating system - AX dynamics, Autocoding, Sparc Systems throughout the department, meeting all requirements to guarantee daily operations in the production process.

Control yield and waste by monitoring the use of raw materials and packaging and implementing effective stock rotation and control

Ensure accurate completion of production documents such as production records, wash tanks, start-up checks, knife control, scale checks, metal detections, etc.

Implement and monitor Company's standards on Food Safety and Health & Safety, complete investigations on non-conformances.

Promote a harmonious working relationship within the Department by dealing with grievance, and also by managing non-performers through counselling and disciplinary in accordance with Company procedures

Lead by example by adhering to Company general policies, i.e., Food Safety, Health & Safety

Undertake other appropriate duties as deemed necessary within the scope of the role

Person Specification



Essential



Fluent in both verbal and written English Minimum 5 years' experience within a similar in a food manufacturing environment Level 3 Food Safety Excellent IT literacy using Microsoft suite of applications

Desirable



Confident decision-making skills Exceptional attention to detail Experience using an MRP system such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar

Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
