MADE Partnership acts as a master developer, managing the development of large-scale projects, taking responsibility for the overall vision and strategy, and coordinating the wide range of stakeholders involved. It assembles the land, manages the planning, installs the primary and community infrastructure, disposes of serviced parcels of land to homebuilders, and ensures robust long-term stewardship is put in place.
In this role you'll work as part of the Group Major Projects team - the specialist master developer unit within Barratt Redrow Developments which manages the MADE Partnership business on behalf of the investors. We have a pipeline of projects ready to mobilise into delivery.
As a Senior Project Manager within Barratt Major Projects, you will play a key role in delivering complex, large-scale developments through effective planning, coordination, and execution. Working as part of the MADE Partnership, you will help drive the success of our master developer model, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to successfully deliver serviced land parcels, complex infrastructure, and strategic master developments.
You will be expected to:
Strategic Planning & Oversight
Support the Project Management Director in defining and implementing a comprehensive project delivery strategy that aligns with MADE Partnership's vision and objectives for master development.
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for the delivery of serviced land parcels covering timelines, resources, risk management, legal considerations, Health & Safety compliance and quality assurance.
Work closely with the team to define project objectives and KPIs.
Project Execution & Delivery
Manage for the delivery of serviced land parcels through pre-construction, construction, and post-delivery phases, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
Oversee and coordinate internal teams, consultants, contractors, and third-party stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
Manage procurement and contracts for infrastructure works, ensuring best value and high standards of delivery.
Implement and oversee risk management processes, proactively identifying and mitigating project risks.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and CDM regulations, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
Drive value management and value engineering initiatives to optimise project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee the preparation and coordination of land sale packs for land disposals.
Ensure legal obligations regulatory requirements, and Health & Safety policies are met throughout the development cycle.
Stakeholder Management
Serve as point of contact for external stakeholders, including government agencies, investors, contractors, consultants, and other partners.
Facilitate effective communication and decision-making processes between stakeholders to ensure project success.
Represent MADE Partnership at meetings, providing clear updates on progress, challenges, and key decisions.
Promote a strong safety culture among stakeholders and contractors, ensuring adherence to company and legal safety standards.
Team Leadership
Foster a high-performance culture within the Project Management Team, ensuring continuous development and collaboration.
Provide mentoring and support to junior project managers and team members, encouraging their professional growth and development.
Report regularly to the Project Management Director, including timely and accurate production of board reports.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
Manage project cost plans for the delivery of serviced land parcels, financial forecasting, and cashflow reporting to ensure alignment with project budgets and business objectives.
Support commercial negotiations to maximise value and mitigate risks within the project portfolio.
Work with finance teams to manage funding, cash flows, and financial reporting.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all project governance and compliance requirements are met, adhering to industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including financial reports, risk registers, and programme schedules.
Lead and participate in project review meetings, ensuring effective communication of project status and key actions.
Develop and maintain risk management protocols, identifying potential issues before they escalate.
Innovation & Best Practice
Promote and implement best practices in project management, seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable development practices to enhance project delivery.
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for: Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex development projects within a master developer, consultancy or infrastructure-led environment.
Comprehensive understanding of highways, drainage, utility, earthworks and other technical disciplines required to facilitate the delivery of large development projects, including relative legislation and legal processes.
Strong knowledge of the development lifecycle, from land acquisition and planning through to infrastructure delivery and land disposal.
Experience managing project cost plans for the delivery of serviced land parcels, financial forecasting, and cashflow reporting.
Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Planning) and/or chartered membership of a relevant professional body (MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM).
Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent commercial awareness and financial acumen, with experience managing project budgets and cost controls.
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and risk management methodologies.
High proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Asta Powerproject, and relevant industry software.
Ability to thrive under pressure, make effective decisions, and drive project success in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
