Are you organised, diligent, and experienced in purchase ledger processes? Join our dynamic Finance team at Glanville Environmental, where your accuracy and attention to detail ensure suppliers are paid promptly and our operations run smoothly.
This office-based role is maternity cover for approximately 11 months, starting mid-to-late September to allow for a handover with the current postholder.
We are open to candidates looking to work 30+ hours per week, providing some flexibility while supporting high-volume accounts, month-end procedures, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately using Sage 200 accounting software
Set up supplier accounts and confirm bank details
Reconcile supplier accounts in preparation for timely payment runs
Verify all new subcontractors in line with Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) standards and manage monthly CIS returns
Resolve supplier queries efficiently via phone and email to maintain strong vendor relationships
Support month-end closing procedures, including accruals and reconciliations
Undertake administrative tasks such as printing, scanning, and maintaining an organised filing system
Provide cover and support across the Purchase Ledger team as required
Carry out any other accounting duties reasonably requested by the Finance Manager
What You'll Need
Technical Skills
Experience in a similar accounting or purchase ledger role
Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
Experience with Sage 200 accounting software
Organisational & Analytical Skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume environment
Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet strict monthly deadlines
Communications & Teamwork
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work independently and support team members when needed
Desirable
Previous experience in the construction industry
Experience dealing with subcontractors
Knowledge of CIS processes
