About the role
------------------
The Research Finance function is pivotal in supporting research funding proposals and post-award finance process within the department.
The postholder will work closely with all professional services staff and academics, and in particular with the Director of Research, as well as with colleagues across the Central UCL teams.
The main purpose of the role is to :
oversee research grant and project funding administration processes and provide consistent advice to relevant stakeholders according to UCL policies and procedures and best practice
work with the Senior Finance and Resources Manager to support the research finance-related development of the Research, Finance and Operations Administrator
build positive working relationships with all staff and UCL departments, with internal and external partners and stakeholders, including various charities and government institutions.
About you
-------------
Educated to degree level or equivalent or having acquired relevant experience in managing financial processes.
Knowledge of research funding processes and regulations within a Higher Education or similar research environment.
Experience of providing administrative assistance in the preparation of research funding applications.
Experience of using online financial systems for budgeting and costing proposals.
Good oral and written communication skills which enable the post holder to liaise , network with and influence a variety of people at all levels of the university.
