Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for Experienced Senior Residential Care Practitioners to join our up and coming residential children's home in Northampton.

We are currently looking for a Senior Residential Care Practitioners for The Edenbridge House Children's Home - part of The Woodbridge Family Centre. Following our sister company's 'Good' Ofsted rating, we continue an upward journey in a provision aimed at delivering high quality, essential, residential children's support services.

The Job Purpose:



To provide advice, assistance and support for and with children and young people. To attend to their practical, physical and emotional needs. To act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential. To prioritise their voice and work with them to co-create their care plans. To undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each child in placement. To give guidance and support to all Residential Workers. To raise any concerns with the Registered Manager as appropriate.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities - Not limited to:



Experience working with children and young people as a senior in a shift leading capacity within the children's residential sector.

To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people.

Understanding the issues of adverse childhood experiences and the impact this can have on children's development.

An understanding of issues relating to EBD and knowledge around legislation.

To ensure that appropriate standards are maintained, especially in relation to care, educational and clinical programmes (service dependent) for the Young People in our care, in accordance with company policies.

Ability to evidence a proactive response when working and make informed choices without supervision.

A genuine passion for guiding and nurturing children and young people to achieve their goals.

The ideal candidate for the role will have.



Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Preferably 5 years' experience working relevant to the residential care of children and at least 2 years at a senior level.

Must be a driver with a clean licence and show evidence of business insurance.

Level 3 or 4 diploma in residential childcare or the equivalent qualification.

Knowledge and understanding of:



Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, Single Social Care Inspection Framework (SSCIF), Children Act 1989, Children and Families Act 2014, Care Standards Act 2000, Children Act 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015, Health and Safety at work and associated guidance and regulation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 27,785.00-30,275.00 per year
