PLEASE NOTE - OUR RATES OF PAY DO NOT INCLUDE ADDITIONAL PAYMENTS SUCH AS OVERTIME WHICH IS PAID AT TIME AND A THIRD, NOR SLEEP IN PAYMENTS WHERE REQUIRED.

At Ar Curam, we provide care, support and accommodation for children and young people aged between 8-17 years old in small residential care homes where we aim to achieve excellent outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

We have an exciting opportunities to join our expanding organisation as a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, joining our established team in our Thornaby home.

Interested applicants should be passionate about effecting long term change in the lives of vulnerable children and young people by providing essential support that enables them to reach their full potential.

The successful individual will work as part of the Leadership team, supporting the service and with tasks as part of the management team. You will contribute to the effective and efficient running of the service, including ensuring staff engagement, development and performance in their contribution to delivery of this service. You will also take part in the on call rota therefore require to be confident in your decision making abilities.

Experience of undertaking tasks at a senior level within Residential Childcare is required.

Interested applicants must have experience of working in a Residential Childcare setting at a Senior level, and at least 2 years experience in a Residential Child Care role as an essential. It is also essential to possess the QCF Level 3 or 4 (level 5 supercedes) in Children and Workforce Development (or accepted equivalent) in line with the Children's Homes Regulations.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake the Level 5 QCF Supervision and Appraisal module within 3 months of commencement of post if not already held.

To work with us, you will need to demonstrate your passion for working with young people. You will be motivated, empathetic and understanding, able to establish and build on nurturing meaningful relationships which will enable you to fully understand the young persons views, wishes and feelings to allow us to effectively advocate for them. You will also be able to build effective relationships whilst playing a lead role to the staff team.

A full driving licence is preferable in order to undertake the full duties of the role which includes accompanying our young people on outings, meetings or responding to emergency situations appropriately. Applicants without a driving licence will be considered in line with balancing the teams needs as well as the Equality Act.
