Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in Mickleover. In this role, you will provide leadership, support, and guidance to a team of Residential Support Workers while delivering high-quality care to the children and young people in our home.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in promoting the wellbeing and safety of the children in our care, assisting them with daily routines, providing emotional support, and working alongside external agencies to ensure their needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of Residential Support Workers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective care delivery.
Offer direct care to children and young people, addressing their emotional, physical, and developmental needs.
Assist with the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that all young people receive the appropriate care and support.
Promote and maintain positive relationships with the children and young people in your care, encouraging positive behaviour and personal growth.
Work with external agencies such as social workers, schools, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic support for the children.
Ensure the home environment is safe, secure, and supportive, following all safeguarding policies and procedures.
Take part in rota shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins as required.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience working within residential childcare settings, ideally at a senior or supervisory level.
A good understanding of the safeguarding procedures and a commitment to keeping children safe.
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards it.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Full driving license is desirable but not essential.
