We are now recruiting a

Senior Scientist

with knowledge in in

vivo experimental biology

to join the

Bioscience

Renal in vivo team

within the Early Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM) therapeutic area. The position is placed at AstraZeneca's vibrant R&D site in

Cambridge, UK.



As a Senior Scientist in the Early CVRM Renal department at AstraZeneca, you will be part of a vibrant team that focuses on finding new treatment options for patients with renal disease. In the in vivo team, we work with various pre-clinical models and different drug modalities. You will conduct experimental studies, develop renal in vivo models, and perform biomarker analysis to drive our targets. At AstraZeneca, you will work together with experts from different functions and be part of project teams.

Accountabilities:




As a Senior Scientist in the Renal in vivo team you will:

Independently develop, plan and perform high quality in vivoexperiments in rodent models of renal disease Investigate MoA Perform Ex vivo analyses of fluids and tissue for biomarker quantification Identify and implement new models/assays relevant for renal disease area Act as Bioscience representative in projects Analyse and deliver data, presentations, reports and regulatory documents in a timely manner Ensure that own work and work with others is performed according with appropriate safety, health and environment (SHE), qualify and compliance standards, e.g. General Laboratory Standard (GLS).

Essential Skills/Experience:



Experienced hands on in vivobiologist with a PhD or equivalent experience (or MSc with 3+ years or BS with 5+ years in vivo experience in industry or academic setting) with in biology, physiology, pathology or medicine or other relevant area Extensive expertise in running in vivoexperiments in rodents Excellent experimental skills in the use of in vivotechniques and good understanding of practice of animal handling and care Ex vivo, in vitro techniques - qPCR, ELISAs etc Flexibility & independence Educated and certified for in vivoexperimentation Strong oral and written communication skills in English

Desirable Skills/Experience:



Holder of UK Home Office Personal Licence Experience in renal models Experience in biomarker identification in body fluids and tissues Expertise in renal physiology and/or pathology Experience from Pharmaceutical industry
