Job Description


As a Senior Scientist within Bioscience, you\'ll have a good understanding of the range of procedures relating to bioanalysis/bioscience. You will expertly design and conduct laboratory projects/experiments, develop methods, generate interpret and report scientific data. You\'ll also be proficient in trouble shooting and theory.

What you\'ll do

Designs, plans and performs high-quality in-vitro drug discovery experiments independently in the oncology disease area to assess efficacy, triage and understand mechanism of action of lead candidates

Delivers & analyses data, providing interpretations using scientific rigour from own data and that of others, and communicates results to team members in a clear and concise manner with a clear understanding of its implications within drug discovery

Shows scientific leadership to identify and develop new complex cell based bioassay ideas, implement new models/assays/latest technology relevant to bioconjugates and their small molecule payloads

Works collaboratively with team members and cross-functionally to support early drug discovery platforms and projects and establish opportunities to succeed

Maintains a well-developed understanding of approaches to bioassays and antibody-drug conjugates, applying a broader functional knowledge to support the team

Actively develops own skillset and also enables colleagues to thrive through mentoring, regularly sharing expertise and relevant scientific papers and as a role model for Good Laboratory Practice and Safety, Health and Environment standards

Essential for the role

Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Bio/chemical engineering or relevant discipline

B.Sc./M.Sc. in above disciplines with relevant industrial experience

Deep understanding of protein biochemistry and cell biology

Extensive hands-on experience in cell culture with a track-record of establishing, validating and conducting in vitro bioassays and application to drug discovery

Experience with GraphPad Prism, microplate readers and liquid handling automation

3D complex cell culture, target engagement (e.g. WB), and cell imaging experience would be highly desirable

Protein/bioconjugate characterisation (e.g. HPLC/LCMS) experience might be beneficial
