WHAT YOU\'LL DO
As a Sector Senior Manager within BCG s Travel, Cities and Infrastructure (TCI) Practice Area (PA), you will work closely with Topic / Sector and PA leadership to support and run the business with a strong focus on developing and commercializing products. You will be sought as a thought partner, supporting leadership in setting the strategic agenda and defining implementation activities for the business while also engaging and driving topic / sector content development initiatives. Other tasks include business analysis and planning, staffing support, lead organization, internal communication and affiliation activities.

In addition, you will manage the commercial plan and monitor the state of the business (e.g. lead flow, proposal pipeline and sold cases), reaching out to relevant Client Officers/Managing Directors. You will work with the Marketing team to plan publications, newsletters, internal and external events for the topic / sector; develop a SATT strategy for the topic / sector and plan activities; own the topic / sector content on and be the liaison to industry platforms and associations that the topic / sector partners with.

The role will be an integral and influential contributor to the development and growth of the TCI PA.

More specifically, activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Sector strategy: Support the Sector Leader in the end-to-end development and execution of the sector strategy and annual plans. Help translate the strategy into concrete initiatives and drive and track implementation with senior stakeholders. Identify, conceptualize and drive focus initiatives within the sector
  • Business development: Identify new business opportunities and drive business development activities, including identifying critical new IP and competitive intelligence and monitoring of lead flow, proposal pipeline and sold cases
  • Reporting and budgeting: Analyze and interpret the sector s business performance and report on budget utilization throughout the year
  • People: Develop people plan and facilitate implementation, e.g., lateral hiring, cross-office mobility, expertise management, diversity
  • Affiliation: Set agendas for and lead organization of global and regional sector meetings and calls and prepare key presentations; manage internal sector communication
  • Marketing: Work with the Practice\'s marketing team to plan and drive marketing activities, e.g., publications, external communication, and events
YOU\'RE GOOD AT
  • Self-starting with a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial drive, service mentality and ability to work both autonomously and in a multinational team
  • Operating effectively in a matrix organization and fast-paced environment where way forward may be unclear - you drive for clarity
  • Complex project management with the ability to deliver intellectually rigorous output, driving on-time deliverables as well as anticipating and managing risks
  • Managing senior stakeholders and building consensus while being a strong team player across seniority levels - with a strong presence and maturity
  • Ability to respect all BCG client/employee information as personal and confidential
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Bachelor s degree required, master s degree with strong academic achievements preferred
  • At least 8-10 years industry experience or 6 years consulting experience
  • Significant BCG experience preferred, ideally on the Consulting Team (equivalent to Project Leader)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
YOU\'LL WORK WITH

The Sector Manager works closely with the global Sector Leader and their leadership team for the development and execution of the sector strategy. For daily business, the candidate collaborates with other TCI Sector/Regional Managers, Practice Area Coordinators, and Marketing. The candidate also collaborates closely with the Public Sector Management team, as the relevant business sits in both TCI and Public Sector Practice Areas. Further collaboration with other global and regional BCG functions and teams occurs as needed.

The Travel, Cities and Infrastructure (TCI) PA focuses on Infrastructure, travel, transportation, cities, real estate and logistics which form a significant and very dynamic part of the global economy. Massive amounts of public and private capital are flowing into physical infrastructure upgrades as well as sweeping changes driven by digitization and the climate transition. Very significant public and private entities exist in this space with bold ambitions over the coming decade. The PA covers a range of sectors including Transport, Travel & Leisure; Cities, Real Estate & Tourism and Logistic, Postal & Shipping; we also work very closely with our Public Sector and PIPE PAs. These topics also have far-reaching effects in areas such as climate resilience, holistic liveability, sustainable mobility and equality.
