Job Overview


We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, Mediterranean kitchen knowledge, a keen understanding of food safety and kitchen operations. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in supervising kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation, and maintaining a positive and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities



Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu. Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards. Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering their culinary skills and knowledge. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained. Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning, including seasonal specials and new recipes. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment. Provide support during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of meals.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food preparation. Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests. Culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage but not essential.

Pay: 13.90-15.20 per hour
