Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production. Help with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends. Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction. Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, staffing needs, and operational improvements.

Requirements

Proven experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment as a cook or chef. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively. In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen operations. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. A passion for food production and creating memorable dining experiences for guests. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
