Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join our team. This position may suit an experienced Sous Chef, looking to take the next step up.

This is a great opportunity to join and help lead a skilled team in a increasingly busy village pub that does both a la carte and carvery.

You must be passionate about working with fresh ingredients and ideas for new dishes to help design our seasonally changing menus and specials and be confident in all areas of supporting the kitchen and help managing and training staff.

You will also be confident in all aspects of food preparation and service, demonstrating experience/qualifications in a similar environment to a high standard and managing a team to strive for the same high standards.

You will have awareness of all relevant health & safety legislation, and ensuring compliance within the law in all areas of food hygiene management and allergen information and requirements.

You must be able to be flexible and available to work weekends.

There are great transport links to our venue, with Midgham train station just a 2 minute walk from the pub (train from Reading to Newbury) and the No 1 bus stop right on our doorstep, as well as car parking for any candidate that drives.
