At The Spread Eagle we pride ourselves on great food & great service, as a member of our team you will be the beating heart of our kitchen. We are looking for a on experienced sous chef/head chef who has a passion for cooking, thrives in a fast-paced environment, but ultimately takes pride in delivering exceptional food.

The Spread Eagle is picturesque 16th century grade ll listed pub and restaurant, based in Liss we are the head of the south downs national park. Run by a small team it prides itself on its traditional pub and grill menu, with an open log fire and extensive gardens.

Your main duties will include food preparation and cooking of our pub menu, alongside a specials board. You will work in all sections of the kitchen, preparing fresh meat, fish, sauces & soups, ect. You will be responsible, alongside the other back of house staff, to keep the kitchen clean and tidy and complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks to adhere to regulation and law.

The right candidate will have at minimum 2 years experience in a similar role, be able to work in all areas of the kitchen and some basic butcher skills would be an advantage. The candidate will have a good work ethic, be self motivated and able to work within a small team. They will show a good level of skill and attention to detail. They will be able to cook and serve food to a high standard while keeping up with the pace. They will be able to communicate well with front of house, with special detail to tend to customer dietary requirements.

Wednesday - Sunday around 44 hours weekly.
