Role Overview:

We are seeking a

Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT)

to provide professional leadership within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. This role involves delivering specialist assessment and interventions for adults with acquired brain injury (ABI) and contributing to service development.

Key Responsibilities:

Work autonomously as a speech and language therapist within a multidisciplinary team. Assess how a person's communication impacts daily life and provide appropriate interventions. Collaborate with service users and their social networks to overcome communication barriers. Develop communication management plans and rehabilitation strategies, seeking specialist assessments as required. Provide training to staff and service users' social networks. Contribute to service and organisational development.

Requirements:

Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Registered with the

HCPC

. Achieved Dysphagia Competencies. Specialist knowledge of SaLT models and interventions in ABI (e.g., social communication, cognitive communication, communication partner training). Ability to manage complex dysphagia within an adult neurology caseload. Minimum 4 years qualified experience with complex case management.
