As a Senior Structural and Architectural Steel Estimator, you will be at the forefront of our project planning and cost estimation processes. Your extensive experience and expertise will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our estimates, contributing to the successful execution of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the estimation process for structural and architectural steel projects, from initial concept through to final bid submission.
Analyse project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to determine the scope of work and required materials.
Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, and equipment.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project requirements.
Identify and evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
Oversee the preparation and submission of bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and advancements in steel fabrication and construction techniques.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Assist in contract negotiations and procurement of materials.
Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or conditions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a steel estimator in the Architectural and Structural Steel industry.
In-depth knowledge of steel components, fabrication processes, and construction methodologies.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Excel).
Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
