Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in our care home, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will be responsible for assisting residents with daily activities, implementing care plans, and fostering a supportive environment. Your leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively will be vital in supervising and guiding junior staff members.

Duties



Ensure the safety and comfort of residents within the care home environment. To help ensure that all junior staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the house and the creation of the right atmosphere. Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence; help in the care and use of aids and personal equipment. Help in the promotion of stimulating activities for residents. Answer nurse call system, emergency bells, the door and greet visitors. To be actively involved in the formation and evaluation of residents care plans Take part in staff and resident meetings and also in training activities and structured supervision as required. Maintain an awareness of the appropriate policies and procedures and ensure that such policies and procedures are adhered to. In conjunction with other members of staff, ensure that good communications with clients, relatives and other visitors are maintained. Be a key worker for allocated residents. Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of your work is not divulged to third parties. Be aware of emergency procedures including fire precautions and drills. To comply with all health and safety policies. To report all incidents/accidents to the person in charge. To work alongside health and social care professionals who visit Campbell Snowdon. To be involved in the induction of new and junior staff. To administer prescribed medications for those residents who cannot self administer, according to policy.

Requirements



Previous experience in a care home or senior care setting is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with experience in supervising staff preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and colleagues. Ability to develop and implement care plans based on individual needs. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others is essential.
