The Role
As a
Senior Support Worker
, you will play a key leadership role within the home, working closely with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service. You will be a role model to junior staff and will take the lead in delivering outstanding care that meets the emotional, physical, and social needs of our young people.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and support the team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Build strong, trusting relationships with children, promoting their safety, well-being, and development.
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices.
Support and mentor junior staff, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
Engage in key work sessions, activity planning, and daily routines.
Support the management team with audits, reports, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience working in a residential childcare setting.
NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) - essential.
Commitment to undertaking Level 5 Diploma in Leadership (if not already held).
Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development.
Resilient, compassionate, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence - desirable.
