Job Description


We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker to join the team at At Home programme based at Fusion supported accommodation in Edinburgh.

Our Fusion programme provides 24-hour accommodation support to young people aged 16-25 that are experiencing a period of homelessness, we also support people to move on to permanent or other longer term suitable accommodation.

Walking alongside people at home and in the community, we provide tailored support and form trusting relationships to help people feel happier, safer and more confident to live their lives.

Reporting to the Service Manager the main duties of the position will include:

  • Develop positive and supportive relationships with your staff team.
  • Arrange and facilitate regular support and supervision sessions with your team members, utilising best practice in performance management to ensure staff are supported to undertake their roles.
  • Investigate and resolve any complaints made by the people we support.
  • Ensure staff are utilising support plans to record and assess the progress of the people we are supporting.
  • Regularly auditing the files of those we support.
  • Compiling Right There Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and any required local authority returns / reports.
  • Reporting all required Care Inspectorate notifications.
  • Developing participation within the programme from the people we support.
Education and skills/attributes required:
  • Qualified to SVQ level 3 H&SC or SCQF equivalent (or are willing to work towards)
  • Possession of, or willingness to undertake, additional management training in line with the role and SSSC requirements
  • Experience of crisis work with vulnerable people
  • Knowledge of issues surrounding homelessness

Hours of work
  • An average of 39 hours per week worked Monday to Sunday on a shift rota system to ensure 24-hour service provision and provide adequate level of support to the services.
  • Hours of work are mainly worked Monday to Friday however flexibility is required to work weekends when required
