Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team in providing care and assistance to individuals in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting others, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication reminders
- Be able to lead a shift and to support your team
- Implement and monitor individual care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents
- Report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the appropriate supervisor
- Supervise and support residents during recreational activities
- You will be expected as a Senior member of staff to be part of the on-call rota
Requirements:
- Previous experience in senior care or a related field is required
- Ability to drive is desirable for transportation needs
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Knowledge of IT systems for maintaining records and documentation
- Leadership skills to guide and support other staff members when necessary
