Your Role as a Senior Support Worker
As a
Senior Residential Support Worker
, you will provide hands-on support, guidance, and stability for children aged 10-17 with emotional or behavioural needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting children with daily routines, activities, and transitions while promoting independence and self-esteem.
Implementing, reviewing, and contributing to individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
Providing consistent emotional, behavioural, and practical support to foster resilience and trust.
Collaborating with colleagues, families, and professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Safely transporting children to school, appointments, and community activities as required.
Keeping accurate, up-to-date records of care and progress using IT systems.
Participating in professional development, training, and reflective practice.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in
residential childcare
or a related childcare setting is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of
care planning
and the ability to implement and review plans effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting children.
Confidence using basic IT systems for record keeping and communication.
Valid UK driving licence preferred (for transport duties).
A genuine passion for helping vulnerable children and making a lasting positive impact.
