About the Role



We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Cedar Health and Wellbeing in Fulwood area of Preston. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between frontline care and management. You'll work alongside the management team to lead by example, guide your colleagues, and ensure exceptional support is delivered to the individuals who use our services.

You'll support adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Complex Needs, helping them live as independently and meaningfully as possible--placing the individual at the centre of everything we do.

Hourly Rate:

13.75 per hour

Your Responsibilities



Support the management team by supervising, guiding, and mentoring support workers Lead by example and maintain the highest standards of care and conduct Act as a role model, encouraging personal growth and performance development in others Oversee daily service delivery, ensuring compliance with care plans and documentation Manage rota gaps and escalate concerns appropriately Coordinate daily administrative duties (MAR charts, daily logs, support plans) Facilitate team meetings, observational supervisions, and responsive sessions Induct and mentor new staff into the service Carry out On Call Tier 1 duties on a rota basis Promote the wellbeing, dignity and independence of individuals we support Act as keyworker, helping individuals identify and reach their personal goals Maintain positive professional relationships with individuals, families, professionals, and staff Monitor safety, risk and confidentiality in line with legislation and policies Manage service users' monies accurately, with full accountability Adopt a reflective approach and always seek improvement Contribute to policy development and ensure team adherence

Requirements



Essential:



Proficient in written and verbal communication Previous experience in a care or supported living role Willingness to work towards

Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care


Desirable:



Level 3 Diploma

or higher in Health and Social Care Experience in a senior support role Knowledge of autism, learning disabilities or mental health needs

Additional Information



Must be 18+ Must have the right to work in the UK Must be willing to work unsociable hours including weekends and nights Role is subject to an Enhanced DBS and Barred List check
