Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team supporting a young man with Autism in his own home. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in organising a team of 8 support workers in their duties, working alongside a fellow Senior support worker.

Duties will include updating all documents ie care plans, risk assessments and monitoring day/night reports. Staff rotas completed monthly. Timesheets checked and payroll completion. Ordering monthly medication and weekly stock check. Supervision of medication administration and documentation. Constructing Weekly Activity planner. Liaising with GP and Medical consultants, ensuring all appointments are scheduled into planners and up to date. Arranging Weekly shop to meet menus. Ensuring house is kept clean and in good order.

The role of Senior will be 25.5 hours per week however we would like the suitable person to do at least one shift a week with our young man to get to know him and his needs and for ongoing staff training.

Responsibilities



Provide personal care and support to individual in accordance with their specific needs and preferences. Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication management. Support individual in social activities and community engagement to promote inclusion and well-being. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the individual's condition to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and other support workers to ensure a holistic approach to care. Uphold the dignity and respect of all individuals at all times, fostering a positive environment.

Skills



Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members. Empathy and patience when dealing with challenging situations or behaviours. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to care provision is advantageous. Previous experience in a support or care role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
