Senior Support Workers

to join our team in one of our newly opened children's homes based in
Northampton
.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in the
day-to-day care and development
of children with emotional and behavioural needs. You'll work closely with the team to provide structure, consistency, and high-quality care in a safe and supportive environment.
As a
Senior Support Worker
, you will also take on additional leadership responsibilities, including mentoring junior staff, supporting care planning, and ensuring high standards of practice are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
Build
positive relationships
with children and young people aged 8-17
Provide
emotional, behavioural, and practical support
Encourage healthy routines, education, and personal development
Assist with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and outings
Safeguard and promote the
welfare of every child
Work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (additional payment for sleep-ins)
For Senior Support Workers: lead shifts, complete reports, and contribute to care planning
Requirements:
For Support Workers:
Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (preferred but not essential)
Willingness to complete Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held)
Passion for making a difference in young lives
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Must be 21 or over (due to regulatory requirements)
Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check
For Senior Support Workers:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
(or equivalent)
1+ years experience
in a children's residential setting
Confident in leading shifts and guiding others
Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
