About us

UCL Department of Chemical Engineering is one of the top research and teaching departments in the UK and has world-class standing. The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has an extensive research portfolio across a wealth of areas, and from molecular scale to complex systems.
This post will be based at UCL East, located at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Newham. This post sits within the Manufacturing Futures Lab (MFL) and the Advanced Propulsion Lab (APL). Both labs are cross-faculty hubs, bringing together researchers from a mixture of UCL departments of Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, and Mechanical Engineering. The post will initially be based at UCL\'s Bloomsbury campus in Central London and will move to UCL East in mid to late 2023. The post sits within the Manufacturing Futures Lab (MFL) and the Advanced Propulsion Lab (APL). Both labs are cross-faculty hubs, bringing together researchers from a mixture of UCL departments of Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, and Mechanical Engineering.

About the role

The post holder will be supporting four new MSc programmes starting in September 2023, working alongside the Learning Technologist. This role will include management of all matters relating to the teaching and learning activities of students from enquiry to completion, incorporating organisation of committees and processes relating to assessment, student and course records. The role includes monitoring student attendance and engagement, processing Extenuating Circumstances claims, planning and executing the timetable, entering student marks and as well as servicing examination boards and committees.

About you

The post holder must be efficient, organised and take great care in attention to detail. In addition, the role requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL thus a professional attitude, willingness to help and a positive outlook are required in order to adequately execute the duties outlined. The ideal candidate will be highly computer literate with strong Excel skills and preferable have experience of using student record systems. Commitment to providing a high quality service to our students and staff is essential.
