We have an exciting opportunity to join the UK\'s 2nd largest Building Society and 8th largest mortgage lender (with c\xc2\xa355bn of assets), as a Senior Credit Risk Technical Specialist in the Model Monitoring Camp of the Capital & Impairment team, which sits within the Risk Measurements area of Credit Risk.

This role reports to the Credit Risk Manager (Model Monitoring) and is a senior technical role with no line management responsibility.

As a Senior Credit Risk Technical Specialist, you will take a lead role in developing and delivering model monitoring across IRB and IFRS9 models.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing in depth technical interpretation of requirements and regulations in relation to the monitoring of IRB and IFRS9 models, including scorecard monitoring, and PD, LGD and EAD model.
  • Providing technical leadership of the monitoring team and by acting as a mentor to the team
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that the monitoring requirements of new models are appropriately considered.
  • Supporting the team manager in planning for and delivering detailed monitoring reports, including in response to changes in regulation or because of changing business strategy and requirements
  • Liaising with external advisors and third parties as appropriate, including our external auditors and regulators \xe2\x80\xa2Presenting monitoring reports to senior committees as appropriate, including Retail Credit Models Committee (RCMC), Expected Credit Loss Group (ECLG) and Model Risk Committee (MRC), and responding to queries from senior managers and committees
About you

Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience in a credit risk role (analytical or modelling role)
  • Strong knowledge of SAS Enterprise Guide and/or SAS Base and/or equivalent
  • Highly numerate individual with substantial experience of working in retail credit risk
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of applicable prudential regulations and accounting standards
  • Deep understanding of statistical tools used to monitor credit models
  • Ability to translate the meaning of the outputs that are generated by the model monitoring reports into formats that are easily understood at leadership level so that business decisions regarding the performance of the models can be made
  • Adept at presenting complex data and information
  • Communication is key and you must be able to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders including external auditors
Desirable:
  • Prior exposure to the monitoring of Internal Ratings Based (IRB) and Expected Credit Loss (IFRS9) models would be a significant advantage.
Hours: 35 - Mon to Fri
