As a Senior Technician on our Bristol site team, you will be a key player in the day-to-day operations, ensuring our services are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality. You will work closely with other departments and report to the Operations Manager and Operations team.
Your main responsibilities will involve site works, equipment management, and team supervision, all while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Site Services
:
o Oversee site services and testing schedules, ensuring timely completion of test schedules.
o Cover multiple works during your shift, which may include nights.
o Work with Operations team to implement company policies and goals.
Equipment & Quality Control:
o Assist with the coordination, checking, calibration checks on site equipment, maintenance, and care of equipment.
o Help set quality standards and assist with the implementation of quality-control programs.
o Monitor and maintain equipment and consumables levels
o Promptly notify the Operations team of any nonconforming work or complaints.
Team Leadership & Development:
o Supervise and motivate the site team, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
o Mentor and support team members and assist with their development.
o Help identify training needs and assist with maintaining training records.
Compliance & Administration:
o Ensure all procedures and standards are current, updated, and followed.
o Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks. o Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety guidelines
Required Skills & Experience
o
Technical Expertise:
Proven technical and industry experience in Asphalt, soils, aggregates, and concrete in-situ site testing with a strong understanding of testing procedures for these materials.
Problem-Solving:
The ability to act decisively and solve site and equipment-related problems.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both clear and persuasive, to effectively interact with the Bristol site team and clients.
Leadership:
The ability to work under pressure, motivate others, and meet tight deadlines.
ICT & Systems
: Proficiency in ICT and the ability to work with various technologies and programs. You must also be able to work in a logical, systematic manner.
Accreditation: An understanding of the demands of an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory and good technical knowledge of construction testing within the role.

Your leadership development within the site team Working Conditions This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, and will include working nights. A clean driver's license and UK Right to work required.
