The role



A Senior Ticketer will efficiently and accurately issue airline tickets within set timeframes and complete the accompanying administrative duties. A Senior Ticketer will manage the Ticketing Helpdesk and airlines queues on a rota basis. At this level, a Senior Ticketer will also look for opportunities to make savings and minimise penalties by spotting errors.



As a Senior Ticketer you may be required to assist in training new starters. You may be required to deputise in the absence of the Flight Operations Manager and Ticketing Supervisor. This position requires the individual to deal with employees at different levels across the business.



This role can be based at our Witney office in Oxfordshire or fully remote from anywhere within the UK.





Key responsibilities include:




Issuing published fares in the GDS making sure all names and flights match the booking and ensuring that all fare rule parameters have been met Issuing fares using instant ticketing or fare building manually in the GDS, making sure all names and flights match the booking and ensuring that all fare rule parameters have been met Identifying where cost savings can be made by more intelligent ticketing or using different contracts Reading airline contracts and understanding the terminology associated with the fare rules Managing the airline queues, understanding the actions required and clearly communicating the message and implication to the sales teams in a timely manner meeting any deadlines set by the airlines Manning the ticketing helpdesk, prioritising and then dealing with reissues, refunds, upgrades, and all other associated ticketing queries, ensuring all queries are dealt with correctly and within set time frames Checking work produced by other ticketers Always achieving and sustaining targets set by your Ticketing Supervisor Advising and supporting others in the team with ticketing queries when necessary Having a high level of productivity in all aspects of the ticketing tasks




About you



You will have previous experience issuing tickets using Galileo or another GDS, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and have experience working within the travel industry.



Additional experience required:
Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively Proven track record of making savings and minimising errors Highly organised Excellent attention to detail Very good communicator at all levels within a business Flexible and willing to turn hand to any reasonable task Positive and professional manner Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Good geographical knowledge
