Position Overview

BCD Logistics Ltd is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Transport Operator to join our dynamic team within our high-performing transport operations facility. This is a critical leadership role requiring a motivated individual with a strong background in transport coordination, team supervision, and compliance management. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience working with LGV drivers and possess a comprehensive understanding of driver legislation and industry standards.

As a Senior Transport Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of our container transport operations. You will ensure processes are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard of service for our clients. Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Support a team of transport operators, promoting a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Communication & Coordination: Act as a key point of contact between drivers, depot staff, and other internal departments to ensure seamless and efficient workflow.

Transport Compliance: Manage driver schedules and ensure adherence to all legal, compliance, and safety requirements, including Working Time Directive (WTD) and tachograph legislation.

Workflow Management: Plan and allocate daily tasks to maximise productivity while maintaining a focus on service quality and timeliness.

Administrative Excellence: Utilise Microsoft Outlook and Word for scheduling, operational reporting, and communication across departments.

Performance Monitoring: Track and review key operational metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Candidate Profile

Industry Experience: Demonstrable experience in a supervisory or lead role within a transport or logistics environment.

Driver Management: Hands-on experience working directly with LGV drivers and a solid understanding of driver-related compliance standards.

Customer Focused: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to delivering outstanding service to clients and stakeholders.

Previous experience of distribution deliveries

Tech Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word.

Organisational Skills: Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Problem Solver: Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to resolving issues and driving operational improvements.
