As a key member of Rathbone's Youth Services team, you will be responsible for leadership of youth work teams and support functions for the youth service, including:
Leading and managing teams of part-time staff and volunteers
Organizing the planning and delivery of youth work programmes
Delivering quality face to face youth work sessions with and alongside the staff team.
Plan, manage and implement termly project plans for each project and area of work you are responsible for
Monitor and evaluate the outputs and outcomes in line with funding agreements
The Senior Youth Worker is a post that is central to the success of Rathbone Youth Service as we look to strengthen our organisational sustainability. Alongside the Head of CYPS you will form part of the Youth Service Leadership Team. You will provide leadership and support to Youth Workers and Volunteers enabling us to provide the best possible service to the young people supported by Rathbone.
Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties:
Relationships with Young People
Develop positive and appropriate relationships with the young people who you are working with.
Develop materials and sessions plans which will maximize the opportunities to understand what the young people's needs are and meet these through the project programme.
To liaise with young people's parents/carers if appropriate, consulting with the young people throughout this process.
To engage young people in the decision-making process at the club including the set up and management of Rathbone Youth Board.
Staff Management
To provide on-going line management and support meetings to your youth work staff team.
Undertake supervision meetings and subsequent reviews of appraisal targets with all line managed staff.
To undertake and lead regular team pre brief and debrief sessions ensuring the recording, monitoring and evaluation of the session on Upshot.
Project and Budget Management
Develop your termly project plan and targets with your staff team and manage projects activities in line with Rathbone's policies and procedures.
Record, monitor and evaluate the learning outcomes and outputs for each area and session you are responsible for on Upshot.
To monitor and record expenditure in line with the financial procedures and policies of the youth club.
General
To undertake training and attend team meetings and staff supervision.
Develop effective relationships with other agencies that are working with the young people.
Work with Head of CYPS to secure project funding where appropriate
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Job Title:
Senior Youth Worker
We are experiencing an exciting time of development for the team and are currently looking to recruit two Senior Youth Workers. To support our range of children and young people, our team will be made up of specialist Youth Workers and volunteers bringing in relevant skills and experience. Whilst you will work across all of our Children, Young People and Families services you will have a specific focus in either Employment and IAG or Music Production.
Both roles will include an element of mentoring, relevant training will be provided to give you the necessary skills to deliver this.
At least two years' experience of working in a youth club or youth work setting working face to face with young people both in groups and individually

This role will be based in West Norwood, Lambeth however services are delivered across the locality. The post holder must be prepared to work at any other reasonable Rathbone location as directed.
