The position of Service Charge Accountant is based within an ambitious and fast-growing organisation consisting of multiple businesses. As a Service Charge Accountant, you will help support the wider business including the finance and property management teams with the production of Service charge Accounts for multiple sites. Reporting into the Transactional Finance Manager you will be tasked with the following duties:
Duties
Monitor and review all transactions posted to service charge funds. Bank reconciliation and ledger sign off.
Regular communication with PM team regarding property performance, highlighting areas of concern to help keep budgets on track and overspend to a minimum.
Implement quarterly reviews against budgets for all buildings.
Provide accurate and timely information to PM'S and support the budgeting process.
Provide summary of costs to leaseholders within required year end time frames.
Production of Full Draft Service Charge Accounts.
Liaise with external accountants to facilitate timely production of final service charge accounts.
Calculate balancing charges/credits and communicate to leaseholders.
Producing monthly, quarterly and annual management reports (cash flow, expenditure, Balance Sheet / Profit & Loss).
Contribute to the annual AGM's for each managed property.
Review and improve finance processes.
Manage and support the growth and development of the Assistant Service Charge Accountant.
Key Characteristics
Strong Service Charge background, with experience of year end accounts.
Good systems experience- previous experience using Qube PM would be preferable.
Ability to prioritise own workload and meet upcoming deadlines.
Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Management reporting and budget analysis skills
Proven interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication.
Approachable manner than encourages interaction with others.
Previous supervision or personnel management experience.
