Job Title: Service Engineer (Commercial Systems)
Reports to: Service Manager
About The Job: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, testing, and repairing fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Service & Maintenance
Carry out instructed service and repair work on sprinkler systems, including remedial repairs to existing sprinkler pipework for both the Servicing and Installation departments.
Conduct preventative maintenance during service visits and complete any resulting remedial works.
Perform weekly sprinkler tests, flow testing of pumps and valve sets, and other system checks.
Ensuring all work is completed to a high professional standard, delivering quality results and maintaining compliance with BS EN 12845 and LPS 1048 Technical Bulletin TB203 rules
Respond to allocated emergency callouts as part of the out-of-hours rota Surveys
Survey fire protection equipment at existing and new client sites, identifying repairs, non compliance issues, and reporting on the recommended scope of works in preparation for client quotations.
Prepare accurate and detailed parts lists required to carry out repair works. Reporting & Compliance
Accurately complete and submit all required report sheets, certificates, and related paperwork electronically via our online portal. Maintain detailed records and site asset lists.
Ensure awareness of and compliance with Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and that both the client's and the company's Health & Safety policies are always followed.
Support the company's Quality Management Systems and ensure all procedures and policies are followed.
When required, complete all required online training and attend the necessary job-related programmes to support personal development.
Experience & Skills:
Proven experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial automatic sprinkler systems. (Residential would also be advantageous)
Knowledge of fire pumps, valve sets, and sprinkler installation processes.
Ability to read technical drawings and create detailed parts lists.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Able to work independently or as part of a team.
CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Electrical knowledge would be considered a valuable bonus.
