OVERVIEW



We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the manufacture, commissioning, servicing, and ongoing reliability of our equipment. The role is predominantly hands-on, focused on mechanical systems, fault diagnosis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement across both factory and customer site environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in resolving mechanical and system issues, improving product reliability, and supporting production, quality, and service operations. This position offers exposure to a wide range of equipment and real-world engineering challenges, requiring strong practical ability, structured fault-finding, and effective cross-department collaboration.

DUTIES



Carry out mechanical servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on equipment both in the factory and at customer sites. Support the manufacture and assembly of equipment, implementing engineering improvements and best practices during build. Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical and system failures, implementing corrective and preventative actions. Support commissioning, testing, and handover of new and refurbished equipment. Assist with mechanical system improvements to enhance reliability, performance, and ease of maintenance. Support production teams by resolving build, assembly, and mechanical issues during manufacture. Support warranty repairs, service investigations, and customer-reported issues. Develop and follow test and inspection procedures, analysing results and implementing improvements. Liaise with Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve product performance. Provide clear technical feedback from service and field activity to support continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation of faults, repairs, and corrective actions. Ensure all service and engineering activities comply with health & safety requirements and company procedures.

REQUIREMENTS



Proven experience in a mechanical engineering or service engineering role, ideally within machinery, plant, generators, or similar equipment. Strong practical understanding of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies. Experience with mechanical fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and hands-on repair work. Ability to work on equipment during manufacture, build, commissioning, and in-field operation. Understanding of mechanical testing, inspection, and performance assessment. Ability to read and interpret technical information, manuals, and schematics. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in reporting and documentation. Confident working independently and as part of a team, including in customer-facing environments. Willingness to travel to customer sites and support service activities as required.

Pay: 16.00-17.00 per hour
