Service Lead
to join our passionate team. Reporting to the Service Manager, you'll play a key role in guiding our staff, supporting service users, and ensuring our care services run smoothly every single day.
What you'll do
Lead, inspire, and support a team of coordinators, senior support staff, and admin colleagues.
Work closely with the Service Manager to keep operations running safely and effectively.
Champion quality care by ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate and local authority standards.
Recruit, train, and mentor staff to help them reach their potential.
Handle budgeting, invoicing, and payroll alongside service delivery.
Be a point of support for staff and families -- including on-call cover at weekends.
Drive continuous improvement to make our service the best it can be.
What you'll bring
Supervisory or management experience in the care sector.
SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare (or working towards).
Leadership and Management Award (or working towards).
A full driving licence & PVG membership.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate
Service Lead
to support the efficient operational management of our home care service. Reporting directly to the
Service Manager
, you will provide day-to-day leadership to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality service delivery. The role involves managing administrative staff, care coordinators, senior home support workers, and home care assessors, while liaising with stakeholders and customers to maintain strong partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Service Manager in the legal and ethical running of the service.
Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate, local authority, and company standards.
Work within agreed budgets and assist with financial processes such as invoicing and payroll.
Oversee recruitment, induction, training, supervision, and development of staff.
Provide leadership in quality assurance, complaints handling, and Duty of Candour concerns.
Prepare management reports as required.
Support health and safety practices across all workplaces, vehicles, and offices.
Assist in developing and maintaining effective assessment, care planning, and review systems.
Liaise with external stakeholders and agencies to ensure integrated services.
Participate in the on-call rota, including weekends, to provide operational support.
Act up for the Service Manager in their absence.
Contribute to the reviewing and updating of company policies and procedures.
Person Specification
Essential
Proven supervisory or management experience in the care profession.
Minimum SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare (or working towards).
Full driving licence.
PVG membership.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), planning, and organisational skills.
Strong knowledge of Care Standards and regulatory requirements.
Ability to manage staff performance, budgets, and service delivery effectively.
Calm, adaptable, empathetic, and resilient under pressure.
Desirable
Experience in business or service management.
Financial management skills.
Experience liaising with regulatory bodies and local authorities.
