Scope of Role

Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, and Morrison's and Waitrose in the UK.

The purpose of this role is to maintain good housekeeping in the yard at all times, to the standard that is required by your Supervisor. To lead by example and ensure that you and your team are adhering to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.

Key Responsibilities

To clean, brush and tidy all areas of the yard

To operate balers safely and to

To recycle materials and store in the correct areas

To power wash any areas of the yard that need washed

To keep car parks and smoke huts tidy

To grit and salt areas of the yard in the winter months

To ensure all hedges are kept trimmed and tidy

To observe good housekeeping rules within the department and immediate surroundings in the yard

To adhere to general Company Policies, e.g. Health and Safety

To carry out any other reasonable duties as required

To decant stock in intake, for example opening potato bags for production line

Assisting in unloading dollies of crates from lorries

Building pallet and dollies of empty crates.

Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration ' do the right thing' approach in all interactions.

Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times.

Person Specification

Essential

Basic level of both verbal and written English

Desirable

Previous experience working within a Food Production environment

Previous experience working in a yard maintenance role

Hold a valid Forklift License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to 12.30 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
