Sheffield City Council's Capital Delivery Service has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support officer to join our Programme Management team supporting with the delivery of service improvements, capital projects and project and programme governance.
Service Support Officer role
We are looking to appoint two additional Service Support Officer's in response to increasing demand.
Service Support Officers are based in the Programme Management Office, supporting direct project delivery, resource and commissioning and process improvement. This includes quality assurance and ISO 9001 certification for our Service Management System. Each Service Support Officer also works to a small number of dedicated project managers across the Capital Delivery and Transport Services and in other key areas such as:
managing data sharing protocols
supporting the commissioning process
board administration and minute taking
arranging training
archiving information
raising invoices
diary management
servicing operational Boards outside Capital Delivery Service (arranging meetings, collating and chasing agenda items, minuting meetings)
scheduling non-project meetings
Applicants should demonstrate:
good organisational skills - ability to manage competing demands and to prioritise and manage time effectively
resilience and flexibility
ability to develop good working relationships quickly
substantial experience of the following Microsoft packages: Outlook, Word and Excel
Experience of working with PowerPoint, Visio and Power BI apps is desirable but not essential as training in these can be provided.
Previous experience of working in a project delivery environment is not essential.

The Capital Delivery Service
Sheffield City Council runs an extensive capital programme worth approximately 200m a year, covering projects on new and existing sites that we. Our Capital Delivery Service was created to deliver these projects to the highest standards.
We currently employ over 100 staff in a variety of management, technical, professional and support roles. We operate on a fully traded basis, charging fees to cover our costs.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
