We are a recruitment agency currently seeking an Experienced Sewing Machinist for a well-established factory in Belfast specialising in workwear manufacturing. This role suits individuals with proven sewing expertise and a keen eye for detail, eager to play a key part in producing premium textile products in a professional, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble garments and textile products according to patterns and specifications
- Perform a variety of sewing tasks including stitching, hemming, binding, and basic embroidery
- Read and follow technical drawings, sewing patterns, and instructions accurately
- Inspect finished garments for quality, fit, and workmanship
- Adjust machine settings for different fabric types and production needs
- Conduct minor maintenance and troubleshooting on sewing equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a sewing machinist in a production environment
- Proficiency in using industrial sewing machines and various sewing techniques
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of quality
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team
- Physically able to perform repetitive tasks and sit for extended periods
Schedule
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 17:00
Overtime and weekend availability as required
Pay
13.00-15.00 per hour
