About the Role:
Reporting to the Section Leader, you will carry out a variety of manufacturing tasks in the production of high-quality parachute and aerial delivery systems. You may also be asked to train colleagues in the skills you are competent in.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operate industrial sewing machines to complete assigned tasks
Meet daily efficiency and quality targets
Accurately record information for full lot traceability
Complete daily timesheets correctly
Keep your workstation clean, tidy and organised
Minimise machine downtime
Follow all health & safety guidelines and quality standards
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience (minimum 1 year) as an industrial Sewing Machinist
Skilled in using a range of industrial machines including: single needle, zig-zag, bar-tack, twin needle, 4 needle, automatic, Adler, over-locker
Able to set up machines, thread correctly, adjust tensions, change needles and clean equipment
Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
Ability to read and accurately follow Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) and manufacturing packs
Experience assembling fabric
Strong team player with good communication skills
Comfortable working with minimal supervision once trained
