Your Role as a Shift Leader / Senior Residential Support Worker



As a

Senior Support Worker

in our

Ofsted registered children's residential home

, you will play a key role in providing care, guidance and stability for children aged 10-17.
You will also support colleagues on shift, ensuring safe, consistent and nurturing care at all times.

Key responsibilities include:



Providing practical and emotional support to children throughout their daily routines. Promoting independence, positive behaviour and personal development. Implementing and reviewing individualised care and support plans. Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families, colleagues and professionals. Acting as a role model and leading shifts with confidence and consistency. Mentoring, guiding and developing junior team members. Ensuring all records, reports and communications are completed accurately using IT systems. Supporting children with transport to appointments, education or activities (if required). Maintaining a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.

What We're Looking For



Proven experience in

residential childcare

or a

children's support setting

- essential. Strong understanding of

care planning

and

support strategies

. Confident leadership and the ability to manage shifts effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. IT literacy for documentation and record keeping. Valid

UK driving licence

(preferred but not essential). Calm, empathetic, proactive and resilient approach to care. A genuine passion for helping children achieve positive outcomes.
