Summary
We are seeking a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the Scottish Borders. This vital role involves maintaining and improving our processing facilities to ensure smooth operations and uphold our high standards of quality and safety. The key role of the Shift Maintenance Engineer is to be part of a team that provides 24/7 cover for a modern food manufacturer to all our customers. Ensuring maximum uptime is achieved using exacting engineering standards in the most efficient method possible.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the completion of legible and informative helpdesk reports.
Responsible for the booking out of stock and improvement in relevant stock holding/component specification.
Responsible for accurately completing all PPM reports as issued and suggesting amendments to ensure the most effective maintenance procedures are used.
To provide concise and informative handovers.
Breakdowns/Repairs: this requires the shift maintenance engineer to make the most effective use of their resource to affect a quality repair, both within the expected time limits and to the standard required.
Review of all completed tasks to ensure correct standard and longevity is attained and maintained.
Ensure parts used are of the correct standard and new parts are available from stock in case of future failure.
Qualifications
Confident, proactive, and forward thinking
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Good attention to detail and time management
Proficient in English literacy and numeracy
Relevant engineering qualification
Previous experience within the manufacturing sector would be advantageous
