We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant or hotel experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and managing the smooth running of shifts to uphold our high standards of quality and efficiency.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members during each shift, including front-of-house and kitchen staff.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality.
Manage food safety protocols in accordance with regulatory standards.
Assist with food production, ensuring timely delivery of orders while maintaining high standards.
Provide leadership and support to team members, fostering a positive working environment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of operation.
Handle customer queries or complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management as required.
Train new staff members on company procedures, service standards, and safety protocols.
Requirements
Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Experience in food production and kitchen operations is highly desirable.
Familiarity with restaurant or hotel service procedures, including serving and hospitality practices.
Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills.
Previous experience in culinary roles such as chef or barista is advantageous but not essential.
Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A recognised qualification in hospitality management or culinary arts is preferred but not mandatory.
