Shipping coordinator

Temporary to permanent opportunity
Monday to Friday, 8:30-4:30
Payrate: \xc2\xa310.50 per hour

Responsibilities:

• IP works orders as they come into the department ensuring stock is downdated accurately and scrap is allocated correctly.
• Create BOLs (Bill of Landing) for all works orders accurately and efficiently.
• Obtain costs and quotes for each delivery.
• Negotiate rates with hauliers and freight forwarders.
• Ensure that all paperwork is processed in line with promise dates.
• Create shipping headers and produce all relevant export/UK shipping documentation.
• Communicate with outside haulage and shipping companies to ensure a smooth handover of the goods takes place with all necessary documentation provided.
• Communicate with the despatch team to ensure the correct material is pulled and loaded.
• Ensure freight costs are correct and added to the system to ensure goods can be invoiced correctly by finance.
• Scan documentation on to the system in line with company policies and customer processes.
• communicate with sales to ensure correct shipping terms are aligned to the orders and the goods incur no delays.
• Identify issues and resolve them before goods leave to ensure that we can maintain customer satisfaction.
• Ensure filing is organised and relevant information is stored correctly to maintain legal compliance.
• Manages and maintains the relevant OBS statuses to ensure work does not exceed 5 days.

Requirements:

• Previous experience within an administrative environment Is essential.
• Excellent organisational and accuracy skills.
• Previous UK & European shipping experience is essential.
• A strong understanding of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to work using own initiative and work towards deadlines.
• A knowledge of the manufacturing industry is beneficial.
