Position Summary
Why Join our Team?
As the Shop App Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the Samsung Shop App, for Android and iOS. You will work with the development team, as well as UX/UI team to support the strategy & delivery of the development roadmap. You will work closely with our PMO & HQ teams to deliver a consistent and reliable App shopping experience where you will focus on improving usability for our customers. You will optimize the Shop App to be consistent with other platforms as well as ensuring we are adhering to brand guidelines. Ultimately, your work will have a direct impact on the user experience of our customers.

This role will be pivotal to the success of our ambition to improve the Digital experience and ultimately increase share sales for SEUK as we move through 2024 and beyond. The Shop App Manager will be responsible for implementation of all products & offers specific to the Shop App following the commercial roadmap and wider requests from the brand and marketing teams where relevant.

They will be responsible for aligning to the wider Marketing plans of SEUK, managing partners across the business to develop these plans into action on the Shop App.

Role and Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive, grow and deliver the strategy & development roadmap of the Shop App.
  • Support with monitoring, maintaining and managing the Shop App daily
  • Merchandise all the latest offers across the App, by sourcing assets and regularly updating the app content through the CMS
  • Ensure bug fixes and HQ/Leadership requests are managed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure we continue to strive for a best-in class Shop App experience, working closely with key partners and teams to make it happen.
  • Build and develop relationships with counterparts in commercial, marketing and PMO to introduce new planning processes and ensure workload prioritisation is put in place, clear briefs are developed and implemented.
  • Provide competitor context market trends; feeding insights from our Agency Partners into the UX and Platform teams, to improve and develop growth plans for the App/Shopping experience.
  • Strong coordination skills to coordinate multiple teams and liaise with colleagues to produce plans, progress reports and implementation roadmap of activities.
  • Analysing performance data and using insights to recommend new features and enhancements, to improve the App interface, and deliver a seamless customer shopping experience
  • Analysing customer reviews on app store to recommend new improvements to resolve any frictions in user journey
  • Monitoring the roll-out of new updates/releases to ensure little disruption to the customers.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any problems with platform/agency teams.
  • Ensure that we are providing outward awareness of the success of our initiatives to other parts of the DTC team and also the wider Samsung Business.


Skills and Qualifications

What we need for this role
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Consumers, Digital Marketing and Strategy, and who ideally has experience working for a large brand leading in the digital space, who understands all the dynamics at play in a fast moving environment.

You will have demonstrable experience of having planned and driven large scale marketing campaigns to launch new products and offerings in a Digital environment. You will be able to clearly understand, implement and articulate Digital Strategy in a simple, engaging way \xe2\x80\x93 and excite internal partners with continual improvements to our delivery with a customer-centric lens.

We would like somebody that puts the customer at the centre of their analysis to derive the best form of communications with a strong focus on data-driven techniques and attention to detail.

You will be a great teammate with strong leadership qualities, high levels of commitment, aspiration and adaptability. You will have excellent partner management skills, and be able to influence partners across all levels of the business.
Key competencies should include:

  • A university degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing and/or Retail (optional)

  • Proven experience working in an operational app management role requiring technical knowledge and day-to-day management skills, with evidence of commercial success.

  • Understanding of the Consumer Electronics / Technology consumer online experience.

  • Demonstrable expertise of digital tools & techniques and developing creative solutions

  • Proven project management / product owner skills - capable of delivering project plans, managing digital schedules across parallel projects

  • Ability to effectively manage agencies and to work in large cross functional teams

Skill and Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years experience in online marketing.

  • Proven record of planning, developing & managing mobile apps, delivering successful updates & campaigns.

  • UX/UI experience where you can implement solutions that are user responsive and efficient.

  • Knowledge of web/app development process & capable of implementing a resilient web/app architecture.

  • Previous experience using/understanding Content Management Systems for web or app publishing

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and skilled in testing/debugging.

  • Analytical with great problem-solving skills, delivering consumer-centric, data driven marketing activities at scale and speed.

  • Outstanding communication & organisational skills enabling you to work effectively with partners across our business as well as with external agencies.

  • Demonstrable experience in managing Agency Partners, and ideally leading virtual teams/workstreams to deliver against a shared objective.


What does success look like?
The successful candidate will be able to get going quickly, and build excellent relationships with their marketing and commercial counterparts across all Product Divisions and the wider Digital team, plus our platform and agency teams.
They will be able to quickly interpret the business needs and plans, translating these wider objectives into clear Digital briefs for implementation across the Shop App ensuring there is consistency/alignment with the overall Digital Experience. Activity will include both launching new products & promotions/campaigns to market, on time and on budget \xe2\x80\x93 as well as evolving the digital experience we offer our consumers on the new platform.
They will be able to pull together one aligned response to briefs from the wider Digital team, explaining often technical and complicated plans in an engaging, simple way \xe2\x80\x93 to show how Digital can help the business hit their critical metrics and objectives.
They will lead the implementation and delivery of the Shop App, in order to hit and exceed critical metrics, using data and insight to continually improve the experience we give our consumers via the new platform.
