We are looking for a dedicated, proactive and enthusiastic person to join our team. The ideal person will play a crucial role in ensuring that our shop runs smoothly and efficiently, whilst keeping its 'local, little shop' charm. This position involves assisting customers, maintaining stock levels, and providing excellent service to maintain our reputation.
A 2 month trial period will take place, and there after pay will increase to 13.50 per hour
5 x 6 hour shifts
Thursday to Monday
Responsibilities
Excellent customer service is essential.
Greet customers warmly upon their arrival, with a friendly and patient attitude
Maintain an organised, tidy and clean shopping environment for customers, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, rotated, and displays are appealing.
Process transactions accurately at the till and handle cash responsibly. Work with PayPoint and the Lottery machine
Verify customers age for age related products
Placement of orders, and receiving and working deliveries
Have confidence when working alone, and as part of a team.
Opening and closing of the shop (key holders duties)
Must have the ability to always be 'on the go', in a non-stop working environment
Qualifications
Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the shop's operating hours.
A friendly disposition with a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
