About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our busy convenience store team. This role includes general retail duties as well as assisting with our fresh deli counter and preparing rolls. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication skills, and take pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

Greet customers warmly and provide helpful, efficient service. Assist customers with product enquiries and recommendations. Handle transactions accurately using the till system.

Store Operations

Restock shelves, rotate products, and maintain clean, organised displays. Ensure store areas are kept tidy, safe, and presentable at all times. Receive and process deliveries, checking stock levels as required.

Deli & Food Preparation

Prepare fresh rolls, sandwiches, and deli items to order. Maintain high food hygiene standards, including temperature checks and proper storage. Keep the deli counter clean, stocked, and visually appealing.

Compliance & Safety

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures. Adhere to company policies and operational standards.

Skills & Experience

Previous retail or deli experience is an advantage but not essential--full training provided. Strong customer service skills and a positive, can-do attitude. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team. Good communication and basic numeracy skills. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Pay: From 12,210.00 per year

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
